KEVIN LIU
Postdoctoral Fellow
Kevin is a CIHR Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Neurology/Neurosurgery at McGill. His research uses deep convolutional neural networks to calculate microstructural MRI parameters related to myelin water in human MS white matter and in a novel myelin basic protein KO mouse model.
VLADIMIR GROUZA
PhD Student
Vlad is a PhD student in the Quantitative Life Sciences Program at McGill. His research
investigates brain microstructure with quantitative ultra high field MRI, computational modeling
and chemical histology. He applies these methods for imaging a mouse model of hypomyelination.
HANNAH BERNSTEIN
M.Sc. Student
Hannah is an M.Eng. student in Biomedical Engineering at McGill. Her graduate research is focused on the development of sensitive methods for 7T MRI mapping of retrograde CSF flow and inflammation in periventricular white matter of MS patients having chronic active inflammation.
AHMED ELKADY
Postdoctoral Fellow
Ahmed is a MITACS Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Neurology/Neurosurgery at
McGill. His research focuses on quantitative, myelin-sensitive MRI methods, gradient-echo MRI
techniques for quantitative susceptibility mapping and applications of machine learning to MRI. He applies these methods for multiple sclerosis patient brain imaging.
FOREST LIU
PhD Student
Forest is a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at McGill. He is applying ultra-high field
functional MRI combined with structural neuroimaging to study network models of brain
connectivity in multiple sclerosis. He also examines the relationship between functional connectivity alterations and cognition in MS patients.
Alumni
ZHE (TIM) WU
Postdoctoral Fellow
Tim was a postdoctoral fellow in the lab in the McGill Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery. His research focused on ultra-high field MRI microstructure mapping of myelin volume fraction and axon g-ratio. He also applied Wave-CAIPI ViSTa for accelerated human brain MWF mapping.
VIET HOANG
Undergraduate Student
Viet completed an undergraduate computer science and biology thesis project in the lab. He applied diffusion weighted MRI to study tract-specific white matter pathology in MS. As part of this project, he employed fiber tracking methods for whole-brain structural connectivity mapping. Viet is now a medical student at McGill.
MICHAEL OSHEROV
Clinical Research Fellow
Michael worked as a clinical research fellow in the lab through the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill. He studied the relationship between cortical magnetization transfer ratio and motor impairment in relapsing-remitting and secondary progressive MS.
MARIUS TUZNIK
Research Assistant
Marius worked in the lab as a research assistant for the Pre-Clinical MRI Unit of the McConnell Brain Imaging Centre at McGill University. In that capacity, he guided investigators with pre-clinical high field MRI research development, acquisition and subsequent image analysis.
